What are PVE pneumatic elevators and how do they work?

The PVE pneumatic elevator is the only elevator that works with air, using a completely different technology from other elevators. Pneumatic vacuum elevators are a new concept of single-family elevators, exclusively designed for installation and use in homes, yachts and commercial premises.

It has a highly advanced technology within the domestic elevator sector and there are currently more than 15,000 units installed worldwide.

It works under the principles of pneumatics and vacuum, both different but related and that together give rise to the technology of the pneumatic elevator manufactured by the company. At the top are the turbines that are responsible for generating the vacuum on the roof of the cabin that manages to raise the cabin with passengers. To descend, once unlocked from the floor, it descends by gravity in a safe and smooth way.

Where to install a pneumatic elevator?

These elevators are designed for installation in single-family homes, they are not designed for communities of owners, although it is possible to install them only in cases of very little traffic and with few homes.

They are ideal for attics, for example, since they do not require a pit and the loads on the floor slab below are very low.

Also in homes where aesthetics is a priority, in circular stairwells or in existing homes where we want to install an elevator without doing hardly any work.

Advantages and disadvantages of PVE pneumatic elevators

  • It requires less work than the rest of the elevators, in some cases it is not even necessary to do any work to install it, even if the house is not ready.
  • Without pit: It is supported directly on the pavement.
  • Ecological: No oil is used for its operation.
  • Clean and fast installation in 48 hours, excluding the need for construction work.
  • 360º panoramic design: no pulleys, pistons or mechanisms to obstruct the panoramic view.
  • 220V power supply, minimum maintenance and, most importantly for a home, no risk of entrapment: if the power supply fails or there is a breakdown while the elevator is in motion, the car automatically descends to the lower floor.

What is the price of a pneumatic elevator?

It is difficult to give a price and even more difficult to compare the price of a pneumatic elevator with the rest of elevators, since in this case it is always panoramic and also includes the exterior enclosure, also panoramic. If to this we add that it is necessary to make less or no work (it is a pitless elevator), in many occasions it is possible to equal or improve the price to the rest of elevators.

There are 3 models (PVE30, PVE37 and PVE52) and they can be installed for 2, 3, 4 and 5 stops. In order to obtain a firm offer it is necessary to know all these details and a visit by a technical-commercial engineer is advisable. The main characteristics we need to determine a final price are the measurements between floors from floor to floor; determine the type of installation to be carried out, for which it is necessary to know the free height from floor to ceiling on the highest floor; define options, extras and finishes of the elevator.
